Wild Gully
Our Story
I didn’t always know where this path would lead, but I knew I couldn’t stay in the system that was breaking children’s spirits and burning out the adults who cared for them. After decades in classrooms, watching children slump in chairs with weak cores, masking who they were to fit into a rigid mould — I knew something had to change. I saw what the research said, but more importantly, I felt it in my bones. We weren’t just failing test scores; we were failing childhood.
I grew up wild and free — riding horses flat out, building cubbies, climbing trees, and exploring the slag heap out the back. That kind of play shaped me. It gave me confidence, resilience, and curiosity. And I want that for today’s children — even more fiercely now, in a world that tells them to sit still, stay clean, and grow up fast.
Wild Gully was born from that fire — a space where children are allowed to be children again. Where mud is a learning tool, where sticks become swords and fire becomes a teacher. Here, play is not an afterthought. It’s the foundation. The therapy. The birthright.
I’m here for the parents who feel something’s off but don’t know where to start. The ones who whisper, “I want something different, but I’m scared to go against the grain.” I’m here for the educators, too — the ones who believe in their gut that worksheets aren’t the way, who want to create outdoor classrooms, fight for play, and feel alive in their work again.
Together, we slow down. We reconnect. We trust that children grow best not through pressure, but through presence, autonomy, movement, and wonder.
This isn’t just about nature play. It’s about rewriting what childhood can be — and believing that we can raise curious, capable, emotionally strong children without rushing or rescuing them at every step.
We are building a future where families feel empowered, educators feel equipped, and children feel free.
Let them play, let them move, let them be — because childhood isn’t a race, it’s a right.
At Wild Gully, we believe children grow best when they’re trusted to take risks, play freely, and connect deeply—with nature, themselves, and each other. We bring mud, fire, loose parts, and love to play—because that’s how brave humans are built.
